SANDWICH

We had to make a painting of a sandwich, and then the background. I thought it was easy, but excelly it was hard to do, because bread is never one colour. But is was a really nice exercise to do! And here is my sandwich:

Johannes Itten was born in Südern-Linden, on 11 november 1888 en died in Zürich, on 27 mei 1967.In 1909 he enrolled at the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva but was unimpressed with the educators there, and returned to Bern. A color wheel is a way to visualize how the primary colors and secondary colors blend together. Johannes Itten made a color wheel. In the middle of it, you see the primary colors. After the primary colors you see how to make secondary colors, and after that you see how to make colors like redish purple or bluish purple. This is the color wheel:  We also had to make a color mixing sheet in class, so here it is:

For our assignment for art, we need to collect some examples of patterns. If you pay attention to it, you can find patterns everywhere. There are different kinds of patterns; Natural Patterns, Applied Patterns, and Man-Made Patterns.
These are my pictures of patterns:

NATURAL PATTERNS

This is the 'Meester van der Heijden Groeve' in Nieuw Namen.
They found fossils about 3 milion years old!
Now it's closed, but in the summer you can go to it and have a look.


 This is the bark of the tree in our garden. It's a wallnut tree.














These are roses. They stay on the table in our living room.

APPLIED PATTERNS

This is window film. This window film is on the window off the backdoor.

This is a pattern on a cushion, wich is in our living room.

MAN-MADE PATTERNS

This is a ornament on the ceiling in our living room.

Volco's Axel

Volco's axel.

These are Volco's, and they are made by Han Deij.
They are placed in the years from 1993 till about 1997 and they are made from Terrazzo. The dimensions are about 2 meter bij 1 meter. They are everywhere in the center of Axel, and i like them because there is a story about it. The story goes that there's a monster under the ground of Axel, and you can see his tentacles everywhere in the center of Axel. Its tentacles come above the ground, and first they where all alive, but suddenly they were petrified. That's the story, and i like it because it can''t be true.

Hi! I am Iris, 12 years old en i am on  the ZSC (Zeldenrust Steelant College). I think this is a really nice school, and I'm in a very nice class. My hobbies are drawing, designing and making clothes, dancing, music listening, and reading. I live with my 2 brothers and my parents in a house. We've got a dog (Lola) and a cat (Floris). I love it to make pictures with paint! Here an example!
